Photo Shoot Ideas
I chose simplistic images but also ones that would be interesting, fit together well and have a similar theme with my magazine. For this shoot i'm going to take the images at different angles and use a wide range of shots including; long shots, head shots, over the shoulder shots etc.
I like the images I chose as inspiration for my shoot as they are very simple but the black and white effect makes it a lot more dramatic rather than in colour and I like that. I'm going to include extreme close ups and head shots with natural makeup and false lighting to add to the dramatic look. I will include this shoot inside my magazine on my contents page and also for my front cover but keep my front cover image in colour.I chose these images as I like how they are taken on the street but are still the main focus. I would like to include images like this in my magazine which show the whole outfit the model/person is wearing. I think this is good for readers as it interests them and gives them ideas/inspiration for themselves from seeing what other people wear.
For my final shoot I want to do it in a studio with false lighting(using lamps), which explains why I chose these images to inspire me for my photo shoot. I'm going to include props with the model such as guitars, microphones and anything musical to show the fact that this is a music magazine as well as including fashion from music artists. Im going to use long shots and take the photos at different angles to get a different perspective and make the images not all the same to make sure it doesn't bore the readers.
By getting these images together for inspiration on my photo shoots its helped me figure out what clothes I want included within the images, posture and poses and different styles. So now I know what to tell the model to do.
Logo iIeas
During the process of this task, I experimented with different fonts and sizes trying to find the best logo for me which I did. I think this task helped me as I also got ideas for different fonts and styles to include in the rest of my magazine.
The reason why I chose the final logo was the fact that the other fonts I looked at and played around with had more of a fashion style rather than music which I didn't want as I am making a music magazine and I want to make that clear to the audience when they see the front page of my magazine. Also the font I chose has a young vibe to it which suits my target audience which is; 15-25.

Page Layout
My front cover is going to include a main image of the musical artist covering the whole page also including the masthead; runway in front of the image. By looking at other magazines they have included a heading of the artist name on the magazine and also a subheading about an article inside the magazine about them. I have taken this research into account and included on my front cover as it pleases the reader. The final things I will include are the barcode, time and date and the issue number.
I think my contents is simple but still includes all of the information it needs without looking too messy. My contents will include page references to articles and features so that the readers know what pages to go to when looking for a certain thing within the issue. As well, my contents contains images that feature in the magazine to intrigue and show readers whats to come. Finally, there is a competition included at the bottom of the page.
My double page is very minimalistic which is what I am going for, on the left side of my double page it will include an image of who the article is about using up the whole page. However, the right side will include an interview with the artist. My page layout designs have been inspired from Clash magazine as its a similar style to mine and has helped me a a lot within the planning process of my magazine.
From doing this task, I now have a plan of my layout to go on when producing my magazine which will help guide me through rather than having nothing and being stuck.

Typography
Within my article for my magazine i'm going to use drop caps to start my paragraphs as I think it makes the magazine look and also in my research looking at magazines like Q and CLASH, they have included drop caps in there magazine.
Also in my magazine i'm going to stick a certain colour theme which includes black, white and one other colour that stands out more to make the pages that little bit more interesting and brighter but still keeping the magazine minimalistic. I have also thought about different fonts and sizes to include and i plan on using bold lettering, Subheadings in bigger writing than the article for my double page and different sized text on my content page.
My Magazine FlatPlan
From doing this task I now know exactly what each page in my magazine is going to be which will help speed up the process of producing my magazine and the pages as I will know exactly what I am doing. I chose to only have 55 pages in my magazine as it is going to be issued weekly and also the expense to produce this magazine in mass weekly with a lot of pages would be very expensive.
